Incase you hadn’t realised, it’s polo season.
It’s easy to over-look this – even when you’re actually AT a polo event, it’s common practice not to really see very much of the actual match. Luckily, there tends to be lots of other things to do, too. Like drinking Pimm’s and sitting on the grass.
This weekend, I was at Ham Polo Club for their charity match against The Dogs’ Trust. I’ve been friends with Dogs’ Trust for a little while now – I love going to their events because they have a habit of bringing dogs with them. Obviously.
We arrived at Ham Polo fashionably late (I took my stylist friend Kelvin Baron – goes with the territory), so headed straight for some food.
Then we got distracted by this little guy. I mean…
Which meant that we largely missed the actual polo. Oops.
But we did get involved with the divet stomping so pretty much earned our keep, right?
After the polo, there was a mini dog show which was insanely cute. I fell in love with a teeny tiny yorkie who won a category for being small. I think. It was hard to heard the announcements above my own coo-ing.
If you’re not familiar with The Dogs’ Trust, check out their website here – they are a charity that cares for and re-homes dogs. I’m going to be visiting their Basildon centre soon so will share lots of dog pics. Fair warning!
