Ok, so it was London Fashion Week. I suspect it still is Something Fashion Week somewhere in the world, but frankly I’m over it. I did my part. I got my blisters. It’s time to chill. HOWEVER. If you are a glutton for punishment and continuing to follow the fashion trail, here’s my tried and tested survival plan..
SKINCARE
Cheat awake with a decent skincare regime. Look for things like hyaluronic acid and other rejuvenating goodies that’ll make the most of limited sleep hours and leave you with luminous, dewy skin when you wake up. It makes applying make-up so much speedier, too. Win.
HAIR
Top | Cos
Get a good blow-out. It may come as a surprise, but I don’t get my hair done all that often. I know: shock. I see Jack at Neville in Belgravia about once a week for a great blow-dry, and then just tweak it myself in-between. I find a gentle wave is the most forgiving when you’re lacking motivation to preen, and needs the least maintenance.
WARDROBE
Outfit | Oasis
Bag | Matt + Nat
Plan your outfits. I worked with some great brands like Oasis, Urban Code and Folli Follie to create my Fashion Week wardrobe in advance. I’m even sad enough that I colour-coded the post-it notes I used to mark-up which outfit was for when. Worked like a dream.
SNACKS
Dress | Lisa Maree
Tee | Adolescent Clothing
Shoes | New Balance
Accessorise with snacks. Your tummy (and energy levels) will thank you for it! Personally I’m addicted to popcorn so am a sucker for Propercorn and Metcalfe’s. Also massively rating Rebel Kitchen’s Mylk, which is basically a healthy version of some sort of sweet coffee extravaganza. Gluten & dairy free, too.
SQUAD
Dress | Barrus
Bracelets | Gemporia
Find your tribe and don’t let them go. Friends are crucial, and once you’re cold, tired and hungry, you’ll be very grateful you’ve got them around! Thanks Ashley James, Charlotte De Carle and Kelvin for being my LFW rocks. You rock. We rock. And we all wore leather jackets to Barrus. Obv.
LAUGH
Dress | Oasis
Shoes | Pretty Ballerinas
Fashion shouldn’t be taken too seriously. I mean, it’s awesome, and obviously a seriously huge industry. But learn to laugh at your mistakes. I’ve fallen over, committed awful style sins and had wardrobe malfunctions of the most epic scales. So what – we all have. Enjoy it.
