The Floral Ball For Sheba

by Olivia Cox March 17

This week was the now-annual Floral Ball in aid of the Sheba Medical Centre, which is Israel’s national hospital.

Having been touched by the workings of Sheba, the beautiful Laura Pradelska joined forces with Nick Ede to launch the Floral Ball, in aid of the hospital. Laura sent out the invitation to the squad and a bunch of us (Pandora Christie, Pips Taylor, Charlotte De Carle et al) met up at One Marylebone to show our support for our gorgeous friend and the very worthy cause.

The hospital was established in 1948 as Israel’s first military hospital in a cluster of abandoned military barracks and was originally known as Army Hospital No. 5. Fast forward to 2017 and Sheba is now a leading medical centre, with resources including  an acute care hospital, one of the largest rehabilitation hospitals in the world, a women’s hospital, a children’s hospital, an eating disorder clinic, and a PTSD clinic for soldiers.

We arrived in the (fancy af) venue and were greeted with a champagne reception before heading downstairs into the dining room for a three course meal. Throughout the meal, a silent auction took place.
