Skechers have recently opened a new flagship store on Oxford Street and it is so, so cool.
The US brand began in 1992 with their first Manhattan Beach store, and branched into women’s designs in 1998.
One of my earliest memories of Skechers was when my dad was living in Redondo beach while he worked on a Californian film. One morning, we had a letter through the door of his apartment apologising for any inconvenience as The OC was filmed outside the block. My sister and I donned the Skechers we’d bought the week before in Santa Monica and went off in search of Adam Brody. We found him, waited for a quiet moment, and struck. He was on his way to the loo and gleefully accepted our adoration. To this day, it is my favourite ever photo: my sister and I either side of ‘Seth’.
So I’ve always had a certain nostalgia for Skechers, particularly those retro D’Lites (which are back in store this year, btw).
That particular style had been championed by Britney since 2000. This year, Rob Lowe re-signed as an ambassador again since first signing in 2001, joining Camilla Cabello.
To celebrate the launch of the new Oxford Street store, a select bunch of us gathered for an influencer ballet class with Naturally Sassy, all kitted out in our Skechers athleisure and trainers. We were wearing the Skechers Ultra Flex which maintain the brand’s signature emphasis on comfort, mixed with fashion forward design.
The Skechers Air-Cooled memory foam insole is an absolute dream to workout in. Which I quite regularly do..
To celebrate the opening of the Oxford Street store, I have a treat for you all – 25% off at the checkout in the Oxford Street Store, between 21st Sept-8th October 2017! Just show them this blog post, or quote: OLIVIA25.
